To design and implement of a variety of software solutions or business applications by writing, coding, testing, and analysing a range of software programs and applications. Also undertakes research design, documentation or modifying software specifications throughout the software development life cycle.

  • Act as the technical architect of software developed within the team, in line with Standards and Procedures set by ITD.
  • Ensure that the proposed improvement to the business workflow, as proposed by the business case is implemented. Plan, design, modify, develop and implement business systems in Oman, UAE and Egypt
  • Develops software requirements and specifications.
  • Utilize assigned manpower to achieve results by motivate team to work together in the most efficient manner.
  • Conduct on-going gap analysis  shares results  with team members.
  • Monitor and communicate application performance issues to relevant ITD staff e.g. response times, network issues etc. Ensure system functionality is available to authorised and registered users in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Prepare user manuals to reflect systems capabilities and utilization.
  • Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
  • Comply with and help to ensure standard policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure that applications have adequate backup for support and maintenance.
  • Ensure that relevant documentation, policies and procedure related to Development Projects, Change Control, Access and Security are maintained and applied to all day-to-day activities related to Applications and their Platforms.
  • Stay abreast with up-to-date knowledge of emerging technology trends and developments in areas of interest to the organization.
  • Investigate specific  IS/IT technologies, products, methods and techniques to assess their potential benefit to the Bank.
  • Actively progresses  research, development or evaluation of new products that are, potentially, of interest to the Bank

A good first degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

6+ years experience in a banking or financial environment with proven experience in Information systems, business analysis, application development and maintenance and project management in a corporate environment with the ability to manage teams and projects independently.

  • WMB Administration experience 
  • WMB Version 8, IIB 9
  • Experience in MQ7.1 and higher
  • Design, Develop and Deploy Message Flows and Message sets.
  • Trouble shooting experience on WMB related issues.
  • Experience with automating deployments and deploying into Integration, QA and Production environments
  • Experience with WMQ/WMB performance monitoring; and troubleshooting WMQ/WMB performance issues
  • Familiar with Agile and Scrum methodologies 
  • Unix scripting skills
  • Good understanding of functional/nonfunctional testing concepts
  • Collabnet tools: Subversion, TFS
