Ms. Amal Suhail Bahwan is the Vice Chairperson of Suhail Bahwan Group Holding LLC. She has extensive experience in managing companies across the Bahwan Group.

She is also the Chairperson and Executive Committee member of Al Jazeera Steel Products Co. SAOG. and Director and Board Remuneration Committee member of Oman Oil Marketing Co. SAOG.

Ms. Amal has a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Administration from the Sultan Qaboos University.

H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali bin Jabor Al Thani has been a Director of the Bank since July 2005 and serves as a member of the Board Executive, Nomination and Remuneration Committee (ENRC). His Excellency is the Chairman of The Commercial Bank (P.S.Q.C.) in Qatar, a member of the Board of Directors for United Arab Bank, P.J.S.C. in UAE and is the Owner of Vista Trading Company (Qatar), and a Partner in Integrated Intelligence Services Company (Qatar).

H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali bin Jabor Al Thani holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from Qatar University.

Hamad Mohammad Hamood Al Wahaibi

Chairperson of the Credit Committee of the Board (CCB) and member of the Executive, Nomination and Remuneration Committee (ENRC).

Mr. Hamad Mohammad Al Wahaibi has been a Director of the Bank since March 2014. He has 20 years of experience in the GCC. He has been a director of investment with the Ministry of Defense Pension Fund for the past six years. Mr. Al Wahaibi is also a member of the boards of Voltamp Energy Company and ACWA Power Company.

Mr. Al Wahaibi holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Finance, and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter holder, as well as a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) Certificate.

Ghassan Khamis Al Hashar

Mr. Al Hashar joined NBO Board as a representative of the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) in March 2017. He is currently the Authority's Director of Investments. He has over 20 years of experience in finance and investment management, and represents PASI on the boards of numerous public and private companies. He is also a Board Director at National Life & General Insurance Company SAOG and Oman National Investments Development Company SAOC (TANMIA).

Mr. Al Hashar holds a Master's Degree in Finance and Investment Management.

Mohammed Ismail M Mandani Al Emadi

Mr. Mohammed Ismail Mandani Al Emadi has been a Director of the Bank since November 2014. He is also a member of the Board for The Commercial Bank (P.S.Q.C.) and a member of the Board of Alternatifbank A.S. (ABank), Turkey and has over 30 years of banking experience. Mr. Al Emadi has held a number of key roles at Commercial Bank until 2006, after which he served as Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Real Estate Investment Company Q.S.C. up to 2011, and also served as its Director from 2003 until 2005.

Mr. Al Emadi holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Economics from Holy Names University, California.

Rahul Kar

Mr. Rahul Kar has been a Director of the Bank since April 2016. Mr. Kar is a Chartered Accountant and is currently working as the Financial Advisor to the Chairman of Suhail Bahwan Group Holding LLC.

Mr. Kar is also a Director and an Audit committee member of Al Jazeera Steel Products Co. SAOG. He is also a Director and Nomination & Remuneration committee member of Oman United Insurance Company SAOG.

Fahad Badar

Mr. Fahad Badar has been a Director of the Bank since May 2016. He is also a member of the Board for United Arab Bank, P.J.S.C. in UAE since July 2016.

Mr. Badar's career at The Commercial Bank (P.S.Q.C.) in Qatar spans over 19 years. Prior to his current role as Executive General Manager, International Banking, he held a number of key roles in International Banking, the Government and Public Sector Relations and the Wholesale Banking Divisions.

Mr. Badar holds an MBA from Durham University, UK and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Wales.

Mr. Joseph Abraham

Mr. Abraham is the Group Chief Executive Officer of The Commercial Bank as well as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alternatif Bank and a Board Director of the United Arab Bank, UAE. He has extensive banking experience across both developed and emerging markets. Before joining The Commercial Bank in June 2016, he was CEO of ANZ Indonesia (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group) based in Jakarta, a position he served in from 2008 to 2016. Mr. Abraham has an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, California and has worked in Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ghana, UK and India in various country and regional banking roles with a successful track record covering general management, corporate banking, strategy, product management as well as acquisitions and integrations. Mr. Abraham was appointed as a Board Member of Alternatif Bank in December 2016.

Mr. Said Hilal Al Habsi

SAID ALHABSI has an extensive industry experience in finance and investments, and has spent a considerable amount of time in two of the most prestigious Investment Funds in Oman. Said Al Habsi, Investment Director at Oman Investment Fund (OIF), holds MBA and Bachelor of Finance.
Previously, he worked for Ministry of Defense Pension Fund holding various senior posts in Investment and Finance fields. He is also a Board member at Salalah Mills SAOG, and Ubhar Capital SAOC.

SAID has attended a host of Specialized Executive Management Development Programs at International Institutes of worldwide repute including, IMD, Columbia Business School and Cambridge University Judge Business School.

With experience of more than 17 years, Said has extensive in-depth knowledge of global financial markets and investments.

Najat Ali Al Lawatia

Ms. Najat Ali Al Lawatia was elected as a Director of the Bank at the AGM in March 2017. She holds a Commerce Bachelor Degree in accounting and has attended various courses in diverse fields of financial management, audit, investments etc. She is working as the Deputy Director General for Support Services with Civil Service Employees Pension Fund and has more than 20 years of relevant experience.

Ms. Najat is also a Director and Chairperson of Audit Committee of Oman Cement Company SAOG.

Dr. Ghazi Al Alawi

Mr. Ghazi Al Alawi has a PhD in Entrepreneurship from the University of Plymouth in the UK. He has 5 years’ experience in the financial sector where he was on the Board of Directors for Sohar Bank

Abdullah Zahran Al Hinai

Chief Executive Officer

Abdullah Zahran Al Hinai is the Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Oman. Having held a number of senior management positions in the banking sector, he is an industry veteran with over two decades of experience. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief Wholesale Banking and Strategic Growth Officer at a leading financial institution, and was credited for setting up the organisation’s Strategic Growth function and architecting a number of ground-breaking transactions in both investment and commercial banking.

Al Hinai serves as a Board Member of Oman Banks Association, Oman Urban Development Company Oman, OITPF-Wave Oman and GCC Properties Income Fund, as well as being a member of the investment committee of Izdihar Real Estate Fund. He has also held several board memberships across various industries including manufacturing, investment and urban development.

Al Hinai holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, a Postgraduate Diploma from Manchester Business School, UK, and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Boston University, U.S.A. He also attended the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, the General Management Program (GMP) at Harvard Business School, Boston, MA, USA, and is a holder of Chartered Financial Analyst designation as well as being a Certified Public Accountant.

Hassan Abdul Amir Shaban

Hassan joined the Bank in April 2004. He is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of wide-ranging experience of Government Banking, Communication, Public Relations , Marketing and Branding , Wealth Management & Financial Services with organizations like Commerzbank – Zurich , Majan International Bank , National bank Of Oman .

Hassan worked in Diplomatic field as Omani Commercial attaché in South Africa – 1993-1995 , Oman Commercial attaché in Taiwan – 1995 – 1997. He is a Fellow of the Institute of AMBA Association – UK, holds an MBA in General Management from the University of Nottingham.

Sulaiman Said AL Lamki

Mr. Sulaiman has over 25 years of extensive experience in global financial institutions. Mr. Sulaiman has held leadership roles covering Risk Management, Structured Finance, Investment Banking, Investment Management, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Financial Accounting Standards and Audit Assurance. He is a UK qualified chartered accountant

Tariq Atiq

General Manager – Chief Operating Officer

Tariq has over 24 years of hands-on experience and a strong track record in Retail, Corporate, Cards and e-banking.

A subject matter expert in electronic banking channels, he is credited with having lead various digital transformation initiatives and projects in both retail and corporate sectors, including the Sultanate’s first eCommerce gateway. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Arkansas State University, USA, and an Executive Master of Business Administration in Leading in Digital Transformation from HEC Paris, Doha Campus

Giridhar S Varadachari

General Manager – Chief Financial Officer

Giridhar S Varadachari was appointed Chief Financial Officer of NBO in January 2021 following more than three decades of experience in Financial services industry leading financial institutions across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the UK.
Giri worked with Ernst & Young in Bahrain before he joined Standard Chartered Bank, where he worked for two decades. During this time he held senior leadership positions within operations and Finance functions including six years as Director Finance of PT Bank Permata in Indonesia. Most recently he worked with HSBC for over 5.5 years and provided leadership to a large portion of their finance function.

Giri obtained his Bachelors in Commerce from Madras University. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Henley Management College in the UK.

Anil Kumar

General Manager – Chief Corporate Banking Officer

Anil holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Financial Management. He has 30 years of experience in the banking industry, more particularly in Corporate Banking, SME, Food & Agriculture Finance and Micro Finance. He joined NBO in June 2018 as the Head of Corporate Banking. Prior to joining NBO he has worked with leading banks like ICICI Bank, Barclays PLC, Axis Bank and State Bank of India.

Salah Abdullah Al Sharji

General Manager – Chief Internal Auditor

A certified internal audit executive and banking industry veteran, Salah has over 16 years of experience in a number of leadership roles across some of the Sultanate's largest private institutions, including most recently as Chief Executive Auditor at a local bank, Salah is highly accomplished in establishing, organizing and managing internal audit departments. He holds a Diploma in Economics, and a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and holds an International Certificate in Anti Money Laundering.

With a proven track record in operational and compliance auditing, he will be spearheading the bank's control environment and support it on its next phase of development.

Faisal Al Wahaibi

General Manager – Chief Retail & Digital Banking Officer

Faisal has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, having held various leadership roles at institutions such as Bank Muscat and Bank Dhofar.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Missouri, USA. In addition, he completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Ali Al Abri

Ali has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, having held various leadership roles at institutions such as HSBC and Sohar International.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the College of Commerce & Business Administration, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt.
